Bachir Diagne
Bachir Diagne is a Canadian private equity leader and investment banker with a distinguished track record in sovereign advisory, institutional capital raising, and cross-border project finance. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of United Global Capital, a global investment and advisory group active across North America, the Gulf, and Africa, and a Co-Founder of Qanex Investments, a Dubai-based investment platform focused on strategic capital partnerships. His entrepreneurial vision extends to Mobility Technologies Solutions, a green-energy and sustainable-mobility company, and MXO Group, a diversified platform spanning infrastructure, technology, and logistics. Before founding his investment ventures, Bachir built a solid foundation in banking as an Operational Risk Executive in leading North American financial institutions, developing deep expertise in governance, institutional engagement, and capital-markets structuring. Combining financial innovation with a commitment to sustainability and development impact, Bachir has become a trusted advisor to governments, sovereign entities, and institutional investors, helping bridge capital flows between emerging markets and global investment centers.

Scott Friedmann is a global leader in the innovation and venture ecosystem. As a founder, investor, board member, and advisor, Scott has supported dozens of pioneering startups, including Big League Food Company, Acid League, Drink Proxies, Village Juicery, Detour Coffee, Above Foods, Maxi, Noma Projects, Tolerant Foods (exit to Barilla), Fishwife, East Wasted, Sourse, and Goodles. In addition to early-stage and growth company leadership, Scott has advised the boards of some of the world’s largest food and beverage corporations—PepsiCo, Starbucks, Waitrose, Tyson Foods, Target, and Kraft Heinz—on innovation and growth strategy. Previously, Scott was the Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Idea Couture, a global innovation consultancy (2007–2018), which was acquired by Cognizant Corporation, a Fortune 300 company. Earlier in his career, Scott worked with Bain & Company, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, and Canyon Ranch, building a foundation in strategy, hospitality, and consumer health. Scott holds an HBA in Honors Business Administration from the Ivey Business School at Western University (1995) and a Master’s in Management of Hospitality from Cornell University (2000).

Oscar Sanz-Paris
Advisor and Board Member
Oscar Sanz-Paris is a finance and risk-management executive with nearly 30 years of global experience in structured finance, fixed income, and infrastructure investment. A CFA Charter holder and graduate of Oxford University’s Fintech Programme, he has held senior leadership roles at major financial institutions including UBS, Credit Suisse First Boston, and J.P. Morgan in London, where he specialized in structured credit and emerging-market financing. Oscar is also Deputy CEO and Chief Commercial Officer of CQUR Bank in Qatar, leading the bank’s restructuring and business strategy, and previously CEO of Castille Capital, an FCA-regulated investment advisory and asset-management firm now part of United Capital Group. His background also includes CFO experience in engineering and energy services (Pentech) and renewable-energy fund management in Europe and Asia. He brings deep expertise in project finance, ESG-aligned investments, and real-asset structuring, making him ideally positioned to guide the fund’s real-estate investment strategy across North America, the GCC, and Africa.

Sheikh Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Al Khoory is an accomplished UAE national with over three decades of experience in government, banking, and high-level diplomatic communication. His career includes senior roles such as Chief Translator for the Presidential Court and Main Translator at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, where he supported state missions, international delegations, and strategic government studies across Europe and the GCC. With a background spanning security, commercial banking, project management, and policy research, he has contributed to major national initiatives including education reform, airport development, housing policy, and public-sector modernization. Fluent in Arabic, French, and English, Mr. Al Khoory brings a rare combination of institutional insight, cross-cultural diplomacy, and operational leadership.
Todd Friedmann is a Canadian businessman with deep expertise in commodity trading and large-scale industrial development. A partner in his family’s legacy business which originated in poultry processing and oils, Todd was a key figure in the sale of the family business to an American private equity group. More recently, he co-founded and scaled Tolerant Foods, an award-winning organic Pasta brand distributed in over 8000 retail doors, including Whole Foods, Kroger, Costco and Target. The business was acquired by Italian Pasta giant Barilla. Todd brings decades of experience building and operating commodity, food, trade, energy, and real estate ventures across North America and emerging markets.

H.E. Abdelrazak Mohamed Hadi Ali Alawadhi
H.E. Abdelrazak Mohamed Hadi Ali Alawadhi is a distinguished Emirati diplomat with over four decades of service in the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including senior postings in Madrid, Islamabad, Tokyo, Bonn, Seoul, and Dhaka, as well as extensive assignments within the Ministry’s Cabinet. Rising through the diplomatic ranks to Minister Plenipotentiary and later serving as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Australia, Kenya, and Chile, he also held non-resident accreditation to New Zealand and contributed to official missions across Europe, Africa, and Asia. His career reflects deep involvement in international cooperation, multilateral diplomacy, and major global forums—including the UN General Assembly and high-level security conferences. Fluent in Arabic, English, Spanish, Hindi, and Persian, H.E. Abdelrazak Hadi is widely respected for his long-standing commitment to representing the UAE with professionalism and strategic insight.
Amadou Arona Sy is a serial entrepreneur, board advisor, mentor, and angel investor with over two decades of experience spanning venture acceleration, edtech, IT, commodity trading, and consulting. He is currently the Director, Africa, of the French e-learning group Online Formapro, a Board Director for the ESTEL Group (a leading African university), and a founding member of the Dakar Open Campus (DOC), which became MIT's official collaborator for its Legatum Africa Strategy in Francophone Africa. Prior to his current roles, he founded and served as CEO of Genesis Technologies, Senegal's leading IT group. M. Sy also holds board positions at the gold-mining group Gold Colibrie , Media Press Group, and the American publisher United Press of America, and he is a member of the global network United.
